At approximately 7:00 pm last night (Tuesday, February 6) the Holmes County Sheriff's Office communications center received a call from a parent of a Holmes County High School (HCHS) student. The parent stated that a male student at school had told her daughter he was going to shoot up the school tomorrow (Wednesday), and for her not to come to school.

Investigators responded to the complainant’s residence and met with her and obtained a statement and details regarding the conversation.

Investigators then went to the suspected student’s residence that made the threat and spoke with him.  Based on the information provided and the seriousness of the threats, the student was arrested and charged.

The student has been suspended from school by Holmes District Schools and WILL NOT be at school until further notice. For precautionary reasons, extra deputies will be on campus at HCHS today to ensure the safety of the students and staff.
