Disability History and Awareness

October 3, 2016

The first two weeks of October are Disability History and Awareness Weeks! Section 1003.4205, Florida Statutes, entitled Disability History and Awareness Instruction, was signed into law in 2008. It requires school districts to designate the first two weeks of October as Disability History and Awareness Weeks and also promotes providing instruction for students in all public schools to expand student knowledge, understanding, and awareness of individuals with disabilities, disability history, and the disability rights movement.

3.       RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING:

a.       APPROVAL OF FUND BALANCES FOR THE 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR.

b.      APPROVAL OF THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR.

c.       TOTAL USE OF CATEGORICAL FLEXIBILITY FUNDS FOR THE 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR.

d.      APPROVE THE ANNUAL CANON LEASE

e.      APPROVE THE AGREEMENT WITH PAEC, FOCUS, AND GATEWAY TO PROVIDE FINANCE AND HUMAN RESOURCE SERVICES.

Schools Closed--Friday, September 2

Holmes County Schools will be closed on Friday, September 2 due to the threat of severe weather from Tropical Storm Hermine.

Labor Day--No School

August 31, 2016

There will be no school on Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day.

Weather Update for Thursday, September 1

August 31, 2016

Holmes District Schools will be in session as usual on Thursday, September 1.  All after-school and evening activities have been cancelled.  School officials and Emergency Management will continue to monitor the weather conditions closely and will make a decision regarding Friday sometime tomorrow.  Please stay tuned to local news media and this website for updates.
